Chilli Con Carne & Rice

Ingredients Needed
  • 500 gms Lean beef mince
  • 2 tbls tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tin chopped tomato
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 1 tin kidney beans drained
  • 3-4 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 sticks celery diced
  • 1 small red Capsicum diced
  • 125 gms sliced mushrooms
  • 3 second oil spray
  • Home made spice mix
  • 1 tsp chilli
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
How To Create
  1. In a non stock fry pan spray with oil spray, add onion, celery & Capsicum, sauté until soft

  2. Add mince & garlic, stir until combined

  3. Add spice mix, and cook until browned, breaking up lumps of mince.

  4. Add tin tomato, tomato paste, water, stock cube and kidney beans

  5. Simmer for 35-40 mins or until mix has thickened.

Serve with 1/2 cup basmati rice (optional)
